Forest Bathing Walk - May

  • Ecovillage at Ithaca 100 Rachel Carson Way Ithaca, NY, 14850 United States (map)

Forest Bathing Walk

We now spend approximately 90% of our time indoors . . . Forest Bathing counteracts the effects of screen time, sedentary lifestyles, and loss of nature connection. Make time for yourself to be outdoors in a relaxed, guided way.

Led by certified forest therapy guide, Caitlin Cameron, forest bathing experiences take place at the Ecovillage Ithaca land - 170 acres of trails, ponds, farmland, woods, and meadows.

Walks are inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin yoku (or forest bathing) where participants spend 2 - 3 hours bathing in the benefits of the forest and reconnecting with the natural world. Forest therapy has been studied for its effect on immune function, blood pressure, creativity, computer vision syndrome/eye strain, mental health and mood.

Walks are held on flat trails and are intentionally accessible to most abilities and ages. No prior experience required.

Walks are held in all weather - extreme weather will cancel (announced by 10am day of the event).

Open to participants 14 years and older
