We welcome interest from researchers at all levels and in any discipline with questions that relate to Ecovillage at Ithaca as a site of inquiry.
Thrive Ithaca Ecovillage Education Center welcomes research that deepens understanding of topics related to ecovillages and cohousing and their relevance to the world. We offer mentored research projects for undergraduate students and classes, as well as support for visiting scholars.

Guidelines for Researchers
We recommend that you review the Global Ecovillage Network’s Research Code of Conduct and Protocol for Ecovillage Research. They also offer an Ecovillage Research Course.
Ecovillage at Ithaca is a residential community and resident participation is on a voluntary basis. Researchers are expected to provide an IRB-approved informed consent process, when appropriate, and should respect the privacy and time of all EVI resident participants.
Thrive staff can assist visiting scholars to secure onsite accommodations and meals, but visiting researchers (or their institutions) are responsible for the costs associated with conducting research onsite.
Visitors to EVI must have a host and follow guest policies. Guests may stay at EVI for up to 30 consecutive days.
We request a copy of final papers, presentations, or other documentations of finding for the EVI archives.
