Climate Resilience at EVI

[The ecovillage] movement now faces a critical question: What’s next? What happens when the aim no longer is to ‘just’ turn society around to avert climate disaster, but how to adapt to and mitigate it, while also striving for a more just, ecological, and meaningful future for all life? What does a regenerative and resilient ecovillage look like, today and in the next 20 years?  - The Global Ecovillage Network

The EcoVillage at Ithaca has joined communities around the world as part of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN)’s Resilience program. Our community is completing the Weaving Resilience course and engaging as part of a global community of practice developing tools to assess our readiness for a 2.5 degree warming scenario. This work support efforts to shape a community-wide Disaster Preparedness Plan, a comprehensive Land Management Plan, and re-imaging how we support each other during times of crisis.

Join us for a screening of The Week, a film and discussion about the polycrisis focusing on species extinction, pollution, and climate change. We will gather for three sessions to discuss the impact of these global crises and explore opportunities to bolster our resilience in community together. Check back for upcoming dates.
